Summer baby product recalls

Toys, childcare items, baby care: several products deemed dangerous were recalled this summer, via the government site Rappel Conso. Back on the procedure to follow if you are concerned.

Products recalled in early August:

Cleansing gel care:

• The product: This surgras Body & Hair cleansing gel (500 ml bottle) from the Laboratoires de Biarritz brand could be contaminated by a bacterium, Pseudomonas aeruginos. The latter is particularly dangerous for the health of people whose immunity is weakened or who have cystic fibrosis.
• The risk: poisoning and bacterial infection

baby hat

• The product: this STICK HAUBCHEN woolen hat (Size 0 and Size 1) from the Disana brand, distributed in France by Graine de Marmots, has functional drawstrings in the head and neck area.
• The risk: strangulation and respiratory arrest

Pacifier clip:

• The product: This Auchan Essentiel brand pacifier clip is likely to break at the level of the chain, following impact. This rupture can release small elements that can be ingested.
• The risk: respiratory arrest

July products whose recall is still in progress:

Mushroom chew toy

• The product: Distributed by Amazon, this soothing silicone pacifier for babies from 3 to 36 months, aimed at relieving gum pain, does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive (and the corresponding European standard EN 71-1).
• The risk: respiratory arrest
• References / GTIN: 53131500. All lots are concerned

Wooden jigsaw:

• The product: Marketed in clearance stores, this wooden puzzle shows a label “Not suitable for children under 3 years old” although the product is intended for children under 36 months given its functions, dimensions and features.
• The risk: internal damage
